Representatives from AGS Electronics, Axon Cables, Coorstek, Dynamic EMS, FACTS Precision, Fife Fabrications, Greenfold Systems, Key-Tech Electronics and Laser Support Services headed to Birmingham with Fife Council to take in five shows covering key sectors of aero engineering, composites, automotive, auto electronics and performance metals.
The visit was organised by Fife Council’s Economic Development as part of its support for the manufacturing sector in Fife.
Its Market Development Programme is one element of a range of services offered to local businesses and, as part of this, the Council organises group stands at and visits to major UK trade shows across a range of sectors.
Support is also available to eligible companies attending trade events in the UK or overseas which are out-with the programme.
Depute Council leader Lesley Laird, spokesperson for Economy and Planning said: “The Council can help companies exploit the business opportunities that arise from participating in these sorts of events because we know that they are vital to the development and growth of our local companies.
“This was one of many events to take place as part of Fife Business Week and any company who is interested in hearing more about how the Council’s Market Development Programme can help should get in touch with Business Gateway for more information.”
Alistair Williamson of AGS Electronics said: “This was a great opportunity for local companies to see first-hand the latest developments in product and process technologies for key manufacturing sectors and markets and to assess potential opportunities. Participating on the visit provided a cost effective way to determine potential in these markets and to network with other Fife companies to examine opportunities for collaboration.”
